VENTAS provided the VDC (Ventas Desktop Client) to the Open Source project aubit4gl (A4GL), which was built with Qt4 as a thin rich client. Qt is based on the programming language C++, which is well known as a very fast one. Qt4 also allows to run the VDC natively on different platforms like Win7, Linux or MacOS.

The VDC communicates with the server application via a new XML based protocol, which is lean and flexible as well. The network traffic is reduced to a minimum, so that the VDC can be used from any place where internet is available while
keeping the data centralized on the application server.

Our Team of “VENTAS Research&Support” programmed the VDC to fit the needs of our large ERP system (the VENTAS.serie) and to make it easy and practical to use. The VDC was programmed in order to be the standard GUI for this programming language.
